Dear friends of the Spiritual Renewal Center,

I want to give you an update on the ministry of the Spiritual Renewal Center in this most unusual of years.

The Center has been closed since the general shutdown in March, and we have quickly moved much of the ministry online. Most of our staff spiritual directors are meeting their directees via live video. New requests for spiritual direction keep coming in, and we’re happy that this vital service of the Center can continue safely. You’ve also no doubt seen the many bible studies and renewal events we are now offering online, and our autumn is filled with opportunities and programs for spiritual growth, as you’ll read in our fall  newsletter and emails.

One good fruit of this troubling time has been the appearance of people from distant places at Spiritual Renewal Center virtual gatherings. Friends of the Center who have moved far away as well as others who have found us for the first time through online searches are enjoying the offerings of this ministry. Even after life returns to “normal”, we’ll seek to continue and broaden this long-distance reach.

My hope had been that we would partially reopen the Center after Labor Day. But our friends in virology and in the health care professions have strongly advised waiting until at least Halloween and so that’s what we’ll do. We’ll continue to try to do what’s best for all of us as the situation continues to change.

So many of you have given generously since the shutdown to keep this work afloat and I am deeply grateful for your wonderful help. But our annual summer income slump has hit big time! May I beg your generosity to the Spiritual Renewal Center once again? Please, tap that button down below, or send a check – I promise you, we are being good stewards of your gifts in continuing our shared mission of helping people grow in relationship with God.

May our loving and beloved God bless you and keep you!

In Christ,

Jim Krisher, Director
