In the complexity of being human, shame and ego interact in our lives in ways that shape us.  The gospel invitation of Jesus is to live from a different place—the place where God’s Spirit resides in us. In this seminar, Rev. Terry Zehr will explore the interaction of shame and ego in our lives by looking at Jesus’ interactions in the gospels, the Orthodox concept of Theosis, and the Anabaptist ethos of Gellasenheit.

Terry is a Conference Minister for New York Mennonite Conference, part of Mennonite Church USA.  He has a Masters in Teaching and a Seminary degree from Eastern Mennonite Seminary.  In addition to part-time ministry and serving as a spiritual director at the Center, Terry was part of a family-owned hardware and building supplies business for 17 years.
