About the Event

Spiritual Renewal with the Seasons: Favorite Poems of Spring

Wednesday, May 22 | 12 Noon Hybrid

Facilitated by Rev. Beth DuBois & Friends

Help us celebrate the seasons with poetry this coming year, starting with Spring!

We will be reading and discussing poems of Spring on Wednesday, May 22 at noon or 7pm.

Registrants will receive a packet of poems featuring both classical and contemporary poems for discussion

and will be asked to share their favorite poem of Spring.

Come and enjoy reading poems about Spring and all its resurgent beauty.

We will begin the midday program with a short prayer service in praise of Spring.

We’ll then read our favorite poems that explore the joyous nature of Spring,

and you will have the opportunity to read your favorite Spring poem.

It could be a poem about the glorious natural landscapes of Spring,

a favorite Spring activity, or any Spring experience.

All participants are invited to bring their favorite poem of Spring,

either someone else’s or one you have written!

The packet of poems we provide will get us started in our discussion.

This workshop will be offered as both a day and an evening session,

in person and on zoom, as we test different options

to gauge the best ways to reach more poetry & spirituality fans.

We will continue this series in a similar fashion during the Summer,

as we continue the conversation with Favorite Poems of Summer on July 10th.

Plans are being made to present sessions with Fall and Winter poems as well.

Sessions will be held at the Center in person, and on Zoom.

Suggested fee is $15.

Future plans...

Beyond the seasons of nature, we are also hoping to present programs

around the Poetry of Advent and Poetry of Lent

in the upcoming liturgical seasons.

Look for information regarding further offerings in the coming months.

We hope you’ll help us to ensure the continuation of poetry

as an offering among the Center’s repertoire of spiritual practices.
