About the Event
Spiritual Renewal with the Seasons: Favorite Poems of Summer
Wednesday, July 10 | 12 Noon Hybrid
Facilitated by Rev. Beth DuBois & Friends
Help us celebrate the seasons with poetry!
We will be reading and discussing poems of Summer on Wednesday, July 10 at noon or 7pm.
Registrants will receive a packet of poems featuring both classical and contemporary poems for discussion
and will be asked to share their favorite poem of Summer.
We will begin the midday program with a short prayer service in praise of Summer.
We’ll then read our favorite poems that explore themes of Summer,
and you will have the opportunity to read your favorite Summer poem.
It could be a poem about the glorious natural landscapes of Summer,
a favorite Summer activity, or any Summer experience.
All participants are invited to bring their favorite poem of Summer,
either someone else’s or one you have written!
The packet of poems we provide will get us started in our discussion.
This workshop will be offered as both a day and an evening session,
in person and on zoom, as we test different options
to gauge the best ways to reach more poetry & spirituality fans.
We will continue this series in a similar fashion during the Fall & Winter,
at the Center in person, and on Zoom.
Suggested fee is $15.
Future plans...
Beyond the seasons of nature, we are also hoping to present programs
around the Poetry of Advent and Poetry of Lent
in the upcoming liturgical seasons.
Look for information regarding further offerings in the coming months.
We hope you’ll help us to ensure the continuation of poetry
as an offering among the Center’s repertoire of spiritual practices.
