Impossible possibilities

My prayer brought me to John 6 this morning. The familiar story of the loaves and the fish. I've heard it so many times before, what new insight might there be for me today?
I found it interesting that Jesus asked Philip, a follower, "Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?" Rather than answer the question, (and I probably would have done the same thing), he responded, (the logical thinker that he was) "It would take more than a half year's wages for everyone to have a bite." Another disciple noticed a boy with 5 loaves and 2 fish and considered the impossible possiblities. Hmmm...there's a great deal to think about there.
However, what I am considering is the fact that the miracle happened! Jesus took what was offered, blessed it and offered it to the multitudes and they ate as much as they wanted and there were leftovers!
Now what? Today, if such a feat took place, our social media would be buzzing. Can you believe this happened? It's unreal! Isn't there some kind of hashtag that will give this the attention it deserves?!
Just how do we communicate the miracles that we witness every day? In fact, how do we come to know they are miracles anyways?
I'd like to suggest, that there are programs which help us to enrich our faith and open our eyes to the everyday miracles that surround us. Being with people who see things a tad bit different than our world portrays, is a win-win!
If you're in the Syracuse area, and you'd like to be with people who love to grow from their every day miracle experiences, check out our many offerings that inspire and draw your attention away from the impossible and toward the possibilities that exist with God on your team!
Enjoy the feast and then collect those leftovers and share them with those who didn't make it to the hillside represented in John's Gospel.

I would like to add an other "possibilitiy" to the parable of the loaves and fishes, another form of miracle, a miracle of community. Could it be that when the little boy offered his five loaves and two fish, the crowd saw how unresponsive they had been to each other? They then and offered what food they had tucked away for themselves. Once they shared, everyone was fed.
